Having had a successful 10-year career as a performer on stages across the world, Neil decided to make a change and move into the management side of the entertainment and events industry.
Landing a job as an event producer, Neil moved to Australia where he worked in the corporate and private sector, delivering over 500 unique events. In 2017, the time had come to move back home, and he was soon snapped up by the iconic Albert Hall as Head of Events. The venue would see Neil triple revenue, whilst his passion for delivering immersive and exceptional events would grow.
2020 would see Neil take the jump into a lifelong dream of creating his own events brand.
After 20 years as a successful recruitment business owner, Steph knew it was time for a change. During the years of managing her business and delivering recruitment and engagement to global brands, Steph began to lean towards improving employee engagement and candidate experience.
It was her passion for people, entertaining and the desire to launch a family business that saw the launch of Square Fish Events!
With Neil’s wealth of event experience and Steph’s business acumen combined, the idea became a reality – Square Fish Events was born!
Within weeks of going live, Square Fish Events landed their first gig! However, the events of the Covid-19 pandemic saw the world dramatically changed. In response, Square Fish Events adapted the business model to include a brand-new virtual and engagement concept – BoxSpoke! When their first client needed to deliver new values and a brand message, Boxspoke stepped up and delivered the new concept to 100 employees and nailed it.
Yes, they did! From the success of Boxspoke, Square Fish Events continue to grow their client portfolio, levelling up the offering and stepping into the realm of the virtual events world. The new concepts would include virtual company updates and team engagement, with wellbeing, mental health and fun at the forefront of everything delivered. During this time, Square Fish Events delivered concepts to over 2,000 team members across the UK and Europe.
It was time to level up and elevate the brand, following the success it had rightly earned during adverse times! Neil and Steph decided to reinvest early on and with this came new branding, new merchandise, new website and new business goals!
