01Challenge
The initial challenge when building an event from scratch including the venue, is the structure. After an extensive site survey, we got to work with the structure and planned to design two giant joining marquees – one to house the main party and stage and the other with a bar, interactive elements, and party/ dance floor space.
For the main entertainment, we booked the famous “Bongo’s Bingo” as the headline act and then theme the rest of the party around an Alpine lodge concept.
We selected delicious street food vendors to serve winter warmer dishes, installed a winter lodge bar kitted out with draft and self-service stations and really went to town with some epic alpine styling – over 65 trees, ski simulators, huts, lodge style furniture along with state-of-the-art sound and lighting.
For more crazy fun, we built a giant ski lift for a photo opportunity and an alpine fun house outside for more interactive fun.
02Delivery
The afternoon kicked off with welcome drinks, food and some tunes from our DJ – the night warmed up with the German Oompah Band getting everyone in the alpine spirit (giant conga lines appeared) it was a good sign we were off to a wonderful start. The main show came around and the party went crazy, dancing and singing on the benches – you can always count on Bongo’s Bingo to be a huge crowd hit.
The drinks flowed and the party went on to the early hours with the dance floor packed out all night long.
Feedback
"Planning a Christmas party for 500 people is a challenge at the best of times, but add COVID to the mix and it becomes a nightmare! Square Fish navigated us through postponements, supplier issues, theme changes and everything else that was thrown at us, taking all that stress away. They strived to understand what our objectives were and worked hard to deliver a bespoke party that was suited to our needs, culture and budget. I found them to be professional, experienced, trustworthy and adaptable."
